Let’s TALK — Sugar Babies!
October 6, 2007
Would you eat these or would you rather keep them?
The following photos were forwarded to me via email and I simply couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it!
Sugar?
You’ve got to be kidding me!
Yes, these are just miniature replicas of various positions of a sleeping baby.
Its called the Marzipan Babies…
Looks real? Indeed! The human race can be so artistic in so many different ways. These Marzipan Babies are examples of a replica of God’s craftsmanship. God creates the real things and man, because we are also created in HIS image and likeness, we acquired the tendencies of the creator Himself. An imitation of both the image of the babies and of God’s act of creation.

Sex Scandal ISSUES
August 30, 2007Once Private Property Becomes Public
Originally Submitted under English 71 – A (Creative Writing Class)
Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan
I can’t help but get irritated with all these sex scandal issues and the “drama” the ones involved in the scandal creates. I can only think of one thing, its downward pathetic and an act of outright hypocrites.
I remembered what one of our professors said during the launching of the English 71 [Creative and Critical Writing] class. He said, “Once you have placed your thoughts into writings, it will no longer be your property. It will become the property of the public.” Of course he was talking about the outputs of the students placed in a portfolio.
But his thoughts can also be connected towards these sex scandal junks. What do I mean by it? Well, a person who gets involved in sex scandals are people who decided to play a little game of film making while they are indulging in sexual intercourse. These short films they have created, whether in a mobile phone or a digital camera, will likely be viewed, first by them, then by some friends, and then BOOM its becomes the property of the Public. Both parties are aware that once they tape something which is supposed to be private, its will create a greater possibility that the tape will be viewed by other individuals because it is already placed in something tangible such as films. Like the person’s thoughts place into writing, the tape they have created of themselves becomes the property of the public whether they like it or not; with or without their permission.
If the person concern feels like his or her rights were violated by the public because such tape was exposed, then the public cannot answer for those emotions because in the first place the public will have NOTHING to view at all if they hadn’t done the taping of their private moments. Basically, what I’m trying to say is that when something like these comes out against you, blame it all to yourself because it’s no one’s fault but yours. If you hadn’t agreed to be taped/filmed in then no one will ever get the chance to view something which does not exist at all.
The violation in things such as these can only be seriously persecuted if and when one of the couple involved is unaware of the taping done. But if both parties are aware and have whole heartedly agreed to the taping, then I guess they knew better. They knew in the first place that one day they will have to endure the sweet, bitter humiliation once the tapes comes out. Its simply a play of the consequences of one’s actions.
Let’s TALK about Web Editors
June 23, 2007What does an English language and literature major know about information technology? That was one of the biggest questions I had to face the moment I got a firm grip on what the job was all about. I was a fresh graduate venturing out, trying new things and having a real good time with the university’s job fair program. I saw the posting “web editor” and was totally taken by the word “editor” (lol, fresh grads can be real stupid sometimes). I applied and got hired a week before graduation. Amazingly! I survived the job!
Web editors are people doing writing jobs under the content department under Sticky Media Solutions Inc a search engine optimization or SEO company. Basically, I write descriptions of websites which are to be uploaded under an on-line directory called the Best of the Web or the BOTW.
Simple, isn’t it? Two straight sentences, that was all it took. Compared to the mountains and valleys of paperworks that English majors are required to accomplish, creating two sentences sounds more of a quiz than a real job… that was my perception… which was a BIG mistake… probably the biggest I’ve ever made! As it is, I found out that writing three pages of nonsense hullabaloos was a lot easier than creating two straight and cohesive sentences that sums up the main function of the company, the organization and the website itself. We have rule books, editing guidelines, grammar reminders, client specifications, regional category trees, quotas to chase and probably the scariest of all, Meta editors (They’re the ones who’d gladly pound you on the head if the quality and quantity of your listings couldn’t match the client’s standards.)
Yet, amidst all these, I get to surf the net a lot. (Believe it or not, its part of my job description!) I get to practice my writing skills and update grammar rules all the time. I still get to read a lot and gain fresh information every now and then. I don’t get yelled at by frustrated and freaked out clients of call centers. What’s fascinating about being a web editor is that, by the time I get to finish one of the categories assigned to me, I become a pro with that certain subject. Its not just about writing or net surfing. Its all about updating your knowledge box almost every single day. Categories varies from regional, recreation, home, education, health, arts and almost everything. You get to read about gardening, dentistry, physics history, cryptology, astrology, world cultures, geography, etc. Its like being in school, this time its cooler because knowledge is gained as I pass around from one website to another.
Being a web editor created a major impact in my life. Rather than stick around reading dusty Shakespeare, I get to connect with almost everything from all over the world. If one works with websites, you’ll get to read personal or company/organization pages which gives you an idea of what people normally do; services offered, memorials, historical accounts, missions, visions, hopes, dreams, aspirations and even crazy hallucinations of monsters, big foots and UFOs.
To sum it all up, my work provided the opportunity for me to create a link of what happened in the past, what goes on with the present and a great vision of what’s in store in the future just by reading websites created by minds for a certain goal.
