Let’s Talk about LABIA REDUCTION!

When I was in high school, my friend and I had a girl talk about sex and virginity. As a Filipina, traditions says you have to be a virgin before you get married and your husband should be the only guy you’ll sleep with for the rest of your life. I believe that’s one of the reasons why most of the foreigners want to marry a Filipina. Well, anyway, my friend Weng mentioned something about her aunt getting an operation for her vagina or virginity to come back because her husband was coming home during that time (the husband works abroad). We all laughed about the idea. Aside from the fact that we didn’t believe her aunt  (about getting back her virginity again) what was so funny was the thought that her aunt thinks that she’ll please her husband if she had her virginity back. After having three kids, her aunt feels like her husband might loose interest in her as a woman ( J ). That was just some girly talk during my innocent days (J) I only remembered such event because I came across this website that says there’s a Los Angeles labia reduction clinic. Because of my curiosity, I browsed around the site and found out that labia reduction is also known as vaginal reduction or labia rejuvenation. Technically, a “procedure to decrease the size and improve the appearance of enlarged, hypertrophic or assymetrical labia minora.” I then realized that this must have been what Weng’s aunt was talking about. It somehow makes sense now. Its not gaining back some else’s virginity, rather its just surgical process so that a woman’s vagina will have smaller circumference. Usually a woman whose already given birth feels uncomfortable in her vaginal part because its been overly stretched. Labia reduction seems logical enough…
