Let’s TALK about Text Based Games…. Its actually FUN!!!

I’ve never been much of a fanatic of computer games; be it online or text-based. I couldn’t understand much of it either. I guess I was half short of being the ultimate computer – illiterate. The first game I played was Monsters Game. It’s a battle between vampires and werewolves. I happened to have been recruited by a vampire named Balbal, or as it says “you have been bitten by a vampire…” (lol – that part was funny). I go by the name Jane Merlock as the vampire symbolized by a black cat. The second game I played was Kings of Chaos… I had difficulty understanding the rules at first. All I understood were the characters be it Human, Dwarf, Orcs, Elves or the Undead. As a literature major, my concept of these characters is of the Norse mythology or JRR Tolkien’s the Lord of the Rings (for the latter version). I go by shanonjade and my commander is thorax.

Its not that I have been addicted to the games because these are purely text based. But I enjoy the part were in one gets to steel gold or attack the opponent. Thinking that you’re opponent is probably just your neighbor or somebody from the far corners of the earth… Who knows? Right? The internet can bring us into a wider realm. Amazing!
